Border Crisis - The Role of Stupidity in History

The Wave of Illegals and the Role of Stupidity in History

By James Terminiello

One can learn a big life lesson in the strangest places.

I was once employed by a company that was heading in the wrong direction for a multitude of reasons. In swept a master turnaround specialist, all puff and fire, smoldering with flame-tipped, hard-edged business acumen. He proceeded to wheel off massive changes including moving the company from a cheap suburb to the central part of a notoriously expensive northeastern metropolis.

Many of us were puzzled by this seemingly costly measure – undertaken at a time when the nation was in one of those pesky recessions. Well, we all thought, this guy is making a nice juicy salary, he has a great reputation, and he projects confidence and a world-savvy attitude. He must know what he is doing. We just don’t see it.

Big Life Lesson time!

We were wrong. The charlatan had a girlfriend in the notoriously expensive northeastern metropolis. That was his Big Business Reason for uprooting us and spending money the company did not have. He was gone in less than a year and I was a much wiser man.

Big Life Lesson: Never assume that just because the big guy has the big job, he knows what he is doing.

And speaking of puff and fire, the current sitter at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has suddenly come to the realization that a bit more wall at our southern border (call it barrier if you want to use softer and therefore less accurate lingo) may be in order. Oh, and a smidge more restrictions and a dollop of deportations could ease things a scratch. No big deal.

Perhaps it is because New York Mayor Adams is up to his last eyelash in South Americans. Or it might be that the tent flaps in Chicago are not fit for a Windy City winter. Then again it could be that our president may actually be running out of tax dollars to lavish on the employment, housing, feeding, doctoring, policing, educating, incarcerating, and burying of the few additional millions he has allowed to wriggle in with a nod and a wink towards law and rules... and reason.

From my perspective, it boils down to stupidity. Biden’s supporters assumed that: just because the big guy has the big job, he knows what he is doing.

No. It was just classic, first class, stupid, political pandering on a grand scale. And now that the blow back has begun to actually blow back, it’s time to change course.

History marches on with its loving consort Stupidity giggling at its side!
